ARE ESSENTIAL ITEMS STILL FREE?
Items provided to families by Sammy's Window have not changed. All clothing and other items like toys, baby equipment, new socks, underwear, PJS, diapers, food are still available at NO COST to families for children in foster care.
HOW DO DONATIONS WORK?
Items that have been donated are available to foster families at NO COST.
IS THERE A LIMIT ON FREE ITEMS?
We have adopted the same policies as the other FosterAdopt Connect Sammy's Window locations. There is a limit of 1 per month per child on: toys, socks, underwear, pajamas, and coats. There is a limit of 1 set of diapers and 1 set of wipes per month depending on availability. There is a limit of 2 per month per child on shoes. There is a limit of 3 per month per child on books. There is a limit of 7 outfits per child, per month (ex: 1 shirt and pair of pants). There is a limit of 2 household supplies per family, per month. There is a limit of 3 pieces of children’s equipment per family, per month. There is a limit of 4 hygiene items per family a month. There is no limit on how many times a family can visit per month.
HOW IS THE MONEY MADE FROM RESALE USED?
All money made from the Children's Resale Store goes back into the program so we can employ former foster youth while giving them an opportunity to earn income, gain valuable work experience and soft skills.
